1. Meeting with my mentor
After meeting for the first time, we decided to meet every Monday at her office in Brockton
Started off each meeting by reading a police report and discussing it
Unsure of what my project would be for the first few weeks
We bounced ideas off of each other until I decided on Project PACK
2. Visit Bridgewater State Hospital
Majority of my mentor's hearings are held here
I went with her to a hearing earlier in the year
Observed hearings and met some of the court staff and other prosecutors/defense attorneys
3. Email head of Project PACK
Introduced myself and explained to her what I am doing for my project
She told me that she would love for me to collect donations for my project
We discussed what items are needed the most
4. Create letter for setting up a donation box
Explains who I am and what I am doing my project
Explains what Project PACK is
States that I would like to set up a donation box at that location
5. Create donation boxes
Painted a light blue color to match the Project PACK logo
Added a sheet that explained who I am and what I am doing
Had a list of what materials are needed
Decorated with butterflies (the organization logo)
